Our newest addition, Luke Hogue, joins us as a Sales Engineer, bringing with him a wealth of experience in event technology and customer success. With a background at top companies like Bizzabo and Freeman, Luke is poised to help our clients optimize their event workflows and elevate their experiences. We recently sat down with Luke to learn more about his journey, what excites him about Sessionboard, and how he plans to make an impact in his new role.

What excites you most about joining the Sessionboard team, and what drew you to the company?

What excites me most about joining the SessionBoard team is being part of a company that is truly at the forefront of innovation in the event tech industry. Sessionboard is bridging the gap between technology and events in a way that hasn’t been done before, making it easier for event organizers to streamline their processes and deliver exceptional experiences. I was drawn to SessionBoard because of its commitment to not only improving the way we manage events but also transforming the entire industry. Being part of this journey is something I’m really excited about!

You’ve worked in customer success and business development at top companies like Bizzabo and Freeman—how do you think that experience will help you support Sessionboard’s customers in your new role?

My experience at Bizzabo and Freeman has given me a deep understanding of the challenges that event organizers face every day. I’ve been in their shoes and know the complexities of managing events at scale. This background allows me to approach every interaction with empathy and a solutions-driven mindset, ensuring I can help our customers overcome obstacles and optimize their event workflows. I’m excited to bring this experience to Sessionboard and continue improving the overall customer experiences.

How do you see your background in project management and event services helping to elevate the experience for our clients?

My background in project management and event services allows me to approach customer relationships with empathy and a deep understanding of the work our clients are doing. As a Sales Engineer, I’m able to provide clear communication and ensure all parties are aligned, especially when it comes to technical projects and integrations. I’m committed to making sure these initiatives move forward seamlessly and with innovation, in a way that aligns with SessionBoard’s goals. Additionally, I’m excited to help grow our partner ecosystem, further enhancing the Sessionboard offering and elevating the overall experience for our customers.

What unique perspectives or skills do you feel you bring to Sessionboard’s mission of transforming event content and speaker management?

I’ve always had a passion for finding solutions, and bringing together my two key passions—technology and events—feels like a natural fit. My approach allows me to bridge these two spaces, ensuring that both the technical side and the event management side align smoothly. I’m able to work with teams to ensure they feel comfortable and confident with the path forward, no matter the complexity. This perspective helps me support Sessionboard’s mission of transforming how we manage event content and speakers by making sure all stakeholders are empowered throughout the process.

What trends in event technology are you most excited about, and how do you see Sessionboard leading the way in shaping the best-in-class approach?

I’m particularly excited about the continuous rise of automation and integration in event technology. As events become more complex, the ability to streamline workflows and seamlessly connect various tools is becoming essential. The move toward more data-driven decision-making is also exciting, allowing event organizers to gain deeper insights into their attendees and deliver more personalized experiences.

Stepping in as a Sales Engineer with Sessionboard, I’m excited to help our customers harness the full potential of Sessionboard’s capabilities and transform their event workflows. By optimizing the way they manage content, speakers, and technical integrations, my goal is to make their processes simpler and more efficient, allowing them to focus on creating exceptional event experiences. I want our customers to feel supported and confident that Sessionboard is more than just a platform—it’s a strategic partner committed to enhancing their event management efforts and driving meaningful results. By streamlining their operations, we can help them achieve greater impact with less complexity, ultimately elevating the success of their events.

Outside of work, what makes you tick? Hobbies, interests, family etc.

Food & Adventure, for sure!

Living in Nashville, Tennessee, I love everything that Music City has to offer, from its vibrant culture to its great food scene. Traveling is a big passion of mine, and I’m always excited about the next adventure—whether it's a quick getaway to the Smoky Mountains or a wine tour through the Italian countryside. As a foodie, I’m constantly seeking out new restaurants, with a soft spot for quaint mom-and-pop coffee shops. My go-to coffee order? An iced Vanilla and Caramel latte.

Some other areas of my life - I am a proud UCF Knight, always looking to catch a game. I play rugby and if that doesn’t keep me active enough my 148-pound Rottweiler, Winston, keeps life interesting and ensures I’m always on my toes!
